She doesn't return his text. He only finds out why thanks to the news networks that have taken to following his brother and his newfound comrades around like starved dogs, waiting to jump on any potential scraps. It's not one of his own schemes - he may be one of the best S.H.I.E.L.D. comes up against, but he's hardly the only one - and so he merely watches Doom's ultimately failed attempt at whatever new goal he's set for himself. The camera doesn't much linger on it; after all, she is only another bystander, another anonymous agent that accompany the more flamboyantly costumes, and when she takes a deflected hit, it's delegated to the b-roll. Loki doesn't notice the remote's been crushed to pieces as he calls his magic about him and teleports.
The idiots are at least prepared enough that they've installed an infirmary in their lofty tower, and Darcy's been given her own room - away from the murmur of voices outside and full of what these idiot mortals have deemed 'medicine'. Loki doesn't much give a damn about them, casting them out of mind to focus on the unconscious girl on the bed. For the first time in he can't remember how long, he's without cloaks or shadows, all the enchantments that keep him unseen and unnoticed. It doesn't matter. Darcy does.

After sending Darcy along home with her exsanguinating friend, he returns to his own apartment (bought and paid for with false papers and rerouted funds and cloaked to the gills from any and all prying eyes, S.H.I.E.L.D.-employed or otherwise) to watch over the bustle of activity surrounding the Lewis residence. He doesn't peer into the apartment proper - Darcy's made that line very evident after a prior misunderstanding - but he does see the good captain carted off to medical facilities unknown. There's a momentary debate about whether or not to send a shadow clone after Rogers, to further plant the seeds of curiosity and doubt, but... Loki decides against it. If he's done his work properly then it will only be a matter of time until the captain comes looking for him.
This entire endeavor was meant to be so much simpler before Darcy had swept in in a poor imitation of her heroically inclined colleagues. Oh, well. Still, one must follow through on things.
So it is that Loki Silvertongue sits in the outdoor dining area of a local restaurant with a steaming cup of black tea. Clearing his throat, he raises his eyebrows at his guest and waits for acknowledgment.

So upon viewing the Bifröst's effect on the atmosphere, Jane Foster and her colleagues not only find Thor, but also Loki, Sif, Volstagg, Hogun, and Fandral stranded in the middle of the New Mexico desert.

- Post-movie AU - Having failed to destroy Jötunheimr and prove himself to Odin, Loki has fallen (in every sense of the word). Thoroughly unhinged but still coolly calculating and wickedly brilliant, he's decided that if Asgard will not have him, he will have Midgard. They're better off under his hand, really... Now if only those bothersome Avengers would understand that.

- Post-movie AU - Much the same as 'Sᴏᴍᴇ Assᴇᴍʙʟʏ Rᴇǫᴜɪʀᴇᴅ', but with one minor difference. Darcy Lewis, upon realizing the bamf factor of life as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, applies for the position and undergoes the rigorous routine tests before one such test throws back some very interesting biochemical results. Thereafter Loki remembers a night some decades ago in San Francisco and a passing mortal woman and a decided lack of protection. You can't be a deadbeat dad if you never knew you had a kid, okay.
